Job Description

THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY!  YOU MUST CHECK WITH FINANCIAL AID TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY. 

Assist in the construction and management of Clayton State Theatre productions which includes but is not limited to:
  • Attention to safety and compliance with industry norms.
  • Build scenery, costumes, and props.
  • Set up and maintain lighting and sound equipment.
  • Assist during special events.
  • Maintain theatre spaces (including theatre classroom-studios)
Tasks and responsibilities vary based on the needs of each production. Technicians will work primarily in their area (scenery, costumes, etc.) but may be expected to assist or work outside their area as well. Training will be provided as needed to help technicians expand their skill set.

Required Qualifications
THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY!  YOU MUST CHECK WITH FINANCIAL AID TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY. 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • 1 year experience in area of expertise or have taken Stagecraft at Clayton State.
  • Eligible for federal work study
  • Stage and Screen, Film Production, Communication, or Music major
This position will engage in production work for Clayton State Theater's productions. Skills used might include carpentry, hand and machine sewing, painting, cleaning, organizing, stage management, electrics, props, dyeing, board operation, front of house/hospitality, and other creative work based on
technician's skills.

Examples include:
-For any theatre production, student may assist in the following:
-light/sound board operation, costume/wardrobe setup, building and transition of set items, setup lighting and other technical equipment. Student would work in multiple capacities to satisfy the needs of each our production and events.
