Job Description
Philadelphia's dominant news station is looking for a trailblazing, ahead-of-the-curve video journalist to join the Action News team. The successful candidate embraces new technology and is not afraid to use it. Must deliver impactful storytelling, utilize next generation shooting techniques and incorporate high-end craft editing as well as a proven track record in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of daily news gathering.

- Be self-reliant, and a creative photojournalist who is a team player with the resourcefulness to improvise and solve problems when required.
- Applicants must be proficient in working in the field alone or with various reporters meeting multiple deadlines.
- A working operational knowledge of microwave/broadband mobile units and streaming technology, as well as file transfer solutions on a daily basis, is essential.
- The candidate is a creative visual storyteller with a desire to create content on all digital platforms
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of ENG shooting and editing experience, in a large or network-level television market
- Ability to edit in a fast-paced environment that is reactive to compelling content as well as breaking news.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize & manage tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, proactively identify, and quickly resolve technical issues and/or inefficiencies.
- Must be familiar with basic video and audio principles. Adobe Premiere experience preferred.
- Hours will vary depending on the needs of the news department, so flexibility to work a varied schedule is required.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
- The ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. of equipment is required.
- Prior experience supporting digital platforms is a plus.

- High School diploma or equivalent

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or related field
