The BHG.com Digital Director is the editorial brand lead for the digital extensions of Better Homes & Gardens. Our ideal candidate is a strong leader who’s passionate about creating authoritative, engaging digital home and lifestyle content.
Our Digital Director must have a deep understanding of the core audience and the consumer journey, and the ability to manage the editorial/social team and motivate the staff to meet our KPIs and brand goals. They are adept at creating data-driven content that’s authentic, clicky, and rigorously researched, with exceptional editing and writing skills, a stream of fresh ideas, and a stable of writers and influencers to tap.
They must also be detail and deadline-driven to track on the day-to-day tasks that are crucial to our business, highly organized, collaborative, and adept at using analytics and current SEO and social best practices to make editorial decisions. She/he will work with stakeholders across the digital organization to ideate editorial programs and franchises that both drive engaged audience and create meaningful sponsorship opportunities.
The ideal candidate also has experience managing a budget, producing and/or appearing as talent in video and photo shoots, overseeing social media, and using tools like content management systems, Google Analytics, and Photoshop. She/he should also have a passion for home décor, DIY projects, gardening in any form, and simply living a creative life in whatever form that may take.
